Default Best way to preserve SkipJack's?

I caught some Skipjacks today to use later on for catfishing. I just cut them into hook size pieces and stuck them in the freezer. Anyone know if that's the best way to preserve them or should I go another route before these freeze solid?

I wouldn't think it makes much of a difference, you're not eating them, are you??

All I do with shad is fill sandwich bags, squeeze the air out and freeze 'em. But I keepthe shadwhole untill I use them.

put em in a ziplock bag with some water and freeze them....then about 15-20 minutes before you go out let them unthaw!!
