Default A good Fishing/Hunting Boat???

I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this but here it goes. I'm looking for a good 17 foot to 19 foot fishing/hunting boat. It needs to be camo and have a side console and a package with at least a 25 engine would be great. This boat would be used for bass fishing and of course duck and fowl hunting. Would alsohave to have seating for up to at least 5 people.I have already placed an order for a Grizzly at Bass Pro shops and I have been given the run around as to the exact price and how long it will take to be delivered. So I am venturing out on my own now to find an alternative. Any help would be appreciated. Price is also a concern wouldn't want to go much over $12,000.

my suggestion was going tobe the grizzly boats from bass pro but you beat me to them. if i wanted a hunting/fishing boat that's what i would get.

Have you looked at the War Eagle boats? They are going to be well within your price range and they make a great aluminum boat. They have all the features you need + some and are one of the roomiest aluminum boats out there. Here is their website and they have dealer locators on it.

Thanks all for the information. And Mez I'm definately going to be looking into those Wareagles, from the website they are exactly what I'm looking for. And the same thing goes for the Grizzly boats but the only dealer for them around here is Bass Pro which I love their stores, just when you get the run around and no clear answers its hard to do business like that. But again thanks for the information.

BigT
From what I read your probably looking at 18-19' boat to carry 5 people + gear and a 40-50hp engine to push it all ??
Anyway - I don't own one YET - but love the Polar Kraft (All Welded) boats.Seen a few nice set ups over the years in fishing and duck boats. The ones I've seen running up lakes and rivers are very quit smooth running hulls. They are a bit pricey though. Good Luck

I dont know the model but Lund makes a nice boat with wetlands camo on it. It come in a 18ft model. It is alittle deeper V then most duck boats but looks like a great all around boat.

It has all the features for both fishing and hunting, live wells, bait wells, rod holders, gun holder, all kinds of cool stuff.

big t, welcome to the forums first, i have a couple of friends that duck hunt and fish with there aluminum boats, one has a war eagle with a 50 horse merc, the other is a express with a yamaha, both are camo'ed out, they are both greatboats i have fished and hunted out of both a little, i will say they have come a long way with the aluminum boats, i think all that have been mentioned would suit you well, and are well built pieces of equipment, i think my biggest concern now would be lay-out, for that i preferred the war eagle (for me) look at all of em and see which meets your needs, aluminum boatsjust like there glass counterparts have come a long way in the last 10-20 years, i still have fond memories of my ole bass traker tournament tx 17, it was a fish catchin machine, great in the narrow water too[:-]

take care, keith
