I caught a walleye about that big late winter of 1998 at Smithville lake, Missouri. It weighed 9lbs 4 oz measured 29 3/4" with a girth of 19 1/2" caught it while fishing in 35 feet of water bouncing a chartreuse and pepper 4 inch chomper squirted grub off the bottom, at first I wasnt sure what I had felt like dead weight untill it popped the surface then the fight was on we were catching smaller fish that were fighting from the hook set all the way to the boat. I'll never forget catching that fish. Im gonna have to go digging and find my pictures. awesome fish there buddy.

The ice is getting thicker as the temps drop to -25 degrees with wind chills at -45 degrees. Ice now 24 inches thick.
