Salmon River Fishing

Went and fished a brook off of the Salmon River in NYS yesterday for the first time. It started off slow, but the salmon came in at the end of the day. We each wound up landing our limit of 3, but probably lost 5 or 6 throughout the day. The smallest i caught was about 20lb and the largest around 23.
My uncle got 3 from 15-19 lbs. It was a great time and we met some wonderful people out there. I will post some pics soon.

Lots of fun out there. How were the crowds? In the 80's I used to just about live out there all winter for the stealhead fishing. Salmon season was good but I usually could only take a day or two of it. Kind of like over kill. I had days of50 fish on butmany were foul hooked and broken off as soon as I knew for sure. I remember taking an old uncle out there and telling him the limit was 3 legal caught fish.I let mine go as always but he wanted to keep some because it was his first time. He started to drag 3 that were about 80 pounds and made it only 10 feet. I started to laugh and told him...I told you so. I ended up dragging his 3 fish out from down stream of the Coho street area. I dragged them about 1/2 mile through the mud...never again.
