Josh, that is an nice smallie. I have trouble believing that it is 8lbs though. It just doesn't look like an 8 pound caliber of a fish, I could be wrong though? What state did you catch that in?

You read my mind NY. 8.1 lbs would be a new State record in Texas.

Fish was caught in Back Creek, WV. State record there is 9 something. Fish was 24" long, full of eggs also. Compare the fishes head and tail to the size of my hand. I'm 6'5" . Also note that my arms are not fully extended from my body, thus making the fish look larger. My friend in the picture was standing about 3' in front of me up the launch so his head wasnt cut off in the picture. I can try and get proof, but its fairly hard to do when the fish was released. If you all dont feel it was 8.1 (which is what the scale said), feel free to knock it down to what you think it is. I've got absolutely nothing to gain in a friendly tourmanent.

I edited it because I thought my comment was rude.
God bless you all.
