one of the stories thats been around this area on the Mississippi for years is that divers have spotted flatheads that big that live below the lock and dams on the river. i dunno if i really believe, but its possible. the old river rats always say, "big as volkswagon's". we had the Wisconsin record flathead takenup at the lock and dam north of us, like 79 lbs i think on 8 lb Fireline. Monster of a fish.

It is a shame they let the fish die "being endangered" I am sure they intended to eat it anyway. Hmmmm maybe that is why it is endangered?

Yeah, I am originally from the st louis area and I have heard similar stories. I have personally many 40 to 60 pound fish come out the big muddy. I love in colorado now, not much catfishing here. EJ

When you consider that the Mekong is also alive with poisonous snakes and even piranhas these days I don't blame you . [&:]
