Default Daughters first Bass

My 3 yr old made me proud on the weekend opener.

I was trying to hook a small rock bass or sunfish for her to reel in. She kept saying over and over again "Can I have a turn Daddy?". Daddy kept getting weeds on and saying "Just a minute baby" This went on for 5 mins like a broken record. Finally I threw the jig out and handed her the rod (full size spinning reel). She proceeded to labour away at trying to reel it in. When I tried to help her she would yell "NO DADDY! I"M DOIN IT!"

Then all of a sudden I notice the rod tip "dancing" . I thought "She's got a fish". I went to help her again and got "NO DADDY! I"M DOIN IT!"

Reeled it in all by herself!

She isn't cacth and release I guess because she was upset about letting it go. I convinced her we should try and catch the "big daddy" instead.

A little while later I had this

She didn't want to be outdone I guess so she asked if I would put a real hook on her "Dora the Explorer" toy rod.

It has no tension and won't reel with any pull on it at all. I had to pull the line in by hand when she hooked this.

Nice job dad!
Take lots of pictures I had a blast with my small sons. If you don't have one invest in a video camera. Nice bass.
God bless,
Chuck

Wow, she'll be in tournament soon. Tell your daughter good job from us. Mine will get to go with me next year. Can't wait.

We have a rule at the lake for the girls. They never go even near the water without it on. Doesn't matter who's with them. Second nature for them.

Lots of video to go with the pics as well.

Thanks all!
