Default 8 ft. boat?

I am looking to buy a cheap but durable lil boat. I will paddle it prob. I am looking at the Bassraider 8 foot by Pelican. Anyone have one of these little boats. I want something that can fit in the bed of my Ford. (6.5' bed) I would buy a 10' but I do not think it would fit.
Anyway just seeing if anyone has any advice on this.

Thanks
Jim

hehehee! I use to strap a 12 foot jon boat out the back of my S-10 ( 6 foot bed) with 3 good ratchet straps I never had a problem. go for the 10 footer you wont have a problem, the tail gate adds another foot or so of support.

neck-i use an 8 foot water scamp all the time when fishing by myself and love it! it's large enough for me and all my stuff, plus it's small enough to load and unload by myself from the 4x4 toy truck. i would just as soon use it as the bass boat--maybe that's why i am taking so long redoing the bass boat?? mounted a foot control trolling motor off the bass boat which is getting a new one, and it bring white water off the bow when used on high. gets me around on the small river lakes here as good or better than my larger boats. i highly recommend one if you have a shot at one-they are great!

I bought a heavy duty 10 footer years ago. Still no leaks. I can't fish huge lakes but I love it for the average stuff. I catch just as many fish and can get places the other boys can't. Would not sell it for anything. I paid 100 for it in the 80s used. It is all welded and has no rivits.
