this sunday i'm going up fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass in Maine where the waters clear and pritty cold. how deep have you guys found the fish are when the waters cold and also what lure's have been working best?
I dont spend that much time on bass but I do fish lakes like the one you described. I am in the UP of MI so the weather is about the same as Main. Light colered power baits work good for me fished real slow on what I call a Carolinal rig. I tend to use the wing and drift all difernt deapths and I get a few. I have caught bass 40ft down, both smallies and large mou.
fish slow with small tube baits, maybe 2.5" or 3" stuff. YUM Garret Mega Tubes or Berkley Power Tubes in motor oil, junebug, and pumpkinseed should do the trick. light line(8 lb), maybe even flourocarbon.
