Default Trolling for lakers/salmon/rainbow?

I'm looking into doing some trolling soon for these fish here in NH. I need some advice on what kind of rig to use for trolling with shinners/smelt on a flat line? Line set up? Speed of troll? I've got two Okuma DM30 reels set up on 7' medium action one piece rods. Line with 12lb test using a 3' 6lb leader. Is this set up OK and can anyone add any advice?

Default RE: Trolling for lakers/salmon/rainbow?

I use leaded line 18 pound test and I will drop out 90 feet which will put me at a depth of 45. Check your local fish shops and see what depths they reccomend for your fishing area. I use a Wedding Ring topped with maggets and i use jack loyd attractants.

That is just what i use.

Your set up should be just fine though, but because you have regular line you are going to need to put some banana weights or something similar to reach your required depth.

Troll as slow as possible in an "S" shape between your two target points.

good luck and i hope i was at least a little help...
