looking for a 223 or 17 cal rifle around 200-250

NEF 223 Ultra is 270.00 The NEF regular Handi Rifle is about 200 or a little less at Walmart. They make it in both the calibers that you are interested in.

Savage has a nice little 17HMR BA. Stainless and Synthetic stock for about your price range indicated.The Model is 93R17FVSS.

Yep check out the single shots on walmart.com. I got one about a month ago for around $220 tax included, probably around $280 with the scope and all. And are you looking into a 17 Rem or a 17HMR? You can get a good deal for a 17HMR out of walmart too. But I dont know about a 17 Rem maybe someone else can help you there. Good luck!

I think you should be looking at NEF rifles in a 223 or Marlin/Savage rifle in a 17hmr.

I'd recomend a NEF handi rifle, i have one with a nikon 4-14x scope and did the "oring" trick and it shoots just a little over 1/2 inch at 50 yards with the winchester 45 grain jhp's, o by the way it is a .223 too...i think you will like that rifle...good luck choosing a rifle!
