Default sticking casings in my new pistol

Recintly I baught a new 44 SHR. I have ran about 60 rounds through this gun and I am having problems with the spent casings sticking in 2 of the cylinders. Can anyone give me any answers as to what the problem might be. It seems to be real bad with Hornady. All these are factory loads and cleaning does not help.

If it is the same two cylinders all the time it is most likely a rough chamber. It needs to be polished to 600 grit.

The higher the chamber pressure the more it will wnat to stick. The brass case grabs the scraches on the chamber wall and won't let go when it is too rough.

Bigbulls is most likely right. However if polishing the chambes (cylinders )does not fix it then return the gun to Ruger asap!

huntwv, I hate hearing the problem you're having. You have a couple options. Take it back to your dealer and have him send it back.Or you can contact Ruger at their Newport NH facility. Explain to the service dept the problems you're having. That this is a brand new gun. They might pick up the tab for shipping it back.I've heard they will on occasions.See where you get that way. If your not satisfied email me or send a PM to me and I'll give you the service managers name.I've dealt with him a couple times and he's a very dedicated man who cares about Ruger's customers.Sounds to me the chambers are rough like already mentioned.Ruger will make it right. It's just the hassel sending it back and waiting for it to come back.If you send it via UPS, they will return it right to your house. If your dealer sends it it will be delivered back to him.The time frame how long it will take depends on Ruger's work load.I've gotten guns back in a couple weeks up to a couple months.I'm sure they can give you an estimate how long it will take. The service managers secretary is a lady named Shirley. You might ask to talk to her first.

Thanks for the info guys. I seem to have taken care of the problem myself. I marked the 2 cylinders that were sticking, and got out my JB paste. After using some elbow grease, and a whole lot of care I havent had the problem again yet. Ruger Redhawk thanks for all the help you have given me. If I run into any more problems I will get ahold of you and get some more information.

Thanks again.......Huntwv
