Default Ruger 10/22 Carbine

I just purchased a new 10/22 carbine. I haven't used it yet and I am wondering what comments people have about it. Anything will help.

Welcome to the forum 30-06 hunter. The Ruger 10/22's are very reliable rifles. There are tons of aftermarket accessories for them. With these accessories can make a very accurate rifle. You made a great choice with the little 10/22.

I have had a Ruger 10/22 for 25 years and it is truly the class of all .22 caliber rifles. You have made a great choice and will have many hours of enjoyment with this rifle whether you are hunting small game, target shooting at the range or just plinking. Here in California 20 round magazines are illegal, but if you live in a jurisdiction where they are allowed I would recommend getting one since you will get to do a lot more shooting and spend less time reloading.

The 10/22 is a great rifle and I now own 3 of them. I have my very old original wood stock / blued barrel, a synthetic w/stainless barrel, and I just purchased a 10/22 in 22 magnum. They are extremely reliable and accurate and as someone earlier pointed out, there is a ton of accessories for them.

Ive had many different 22 rifles over the years. Marlins, rugers, savages, new havens, winchester, and remingtons a few others too and even a mossberg. for bolt actions ive become real fond of marlins and older winchesters, but for a self loader i have to go with a ruger 10-22.
I feel ruger has a simple no fail design which boils down to it being the best self loader 22 in the world.

Josey you will have to change the stock to a bull bbl stock.

I have two 10/22's one is 33 years old and still gets it. it was my fathers and will someday be one of my kids. i have a 10/22t that is a awesome little rifle.
IMO they are THE best .22 rifle you can buy.
