Default Problems w/ Bushnell Elite 3200

I just got a new Elite 3200 in the mail about a week ago. I gave in to all the hype and thought I would try one out. I was expecting it to blow my VX-1 outta the water, but that's not the case. The Elite 3200 looks blurry around the edges at all magnifications. No matter what I do the edges look blurry. What gives ? My VX-1 appears brighter, and more crisp. Did I get a dud or was I expecting too much ?

I gave in too but was pleasently surprised how nice it was. Just as bright as my VXII shotguns scope. It did have some glare at the eye piece. Sign of index mismatch with the coatings.

It sure wasn't a VariXIII or Conquest but for 200 it was a heck of a deal and I will continue to buy for low power calibers like 270 and below.

I had a 3200(1st one I ever owned) also that I put on a .300 Weatherby. After 30-40 shots fired, the crosshairs broke from the recoil I guess! I went back to Leupold...

crosshairs breaking are normally just a fluke. Have seen it happen in everything from Trashco, Simmons(including the ocular lens falling totally out), Leupold and even my first Euro glass from Zeiss. Doesn't make any of them bad, it just happens. I have other reasons for not using some of the brands mentioned though. But it can happen to the best.

I suspect if your edges are that blurry and you cannot focus them out, then send it in for a new one!
