Hi,

I am new here and to hunting. I am mainly a fisherman but am interested in hunting. I am 27 years old and like most other newbies to hunting, I wanted to know about a good hunting rifle. I have read about the .22 bolt action being a good beginner gun for big game hunting. I know that hunting season is almost over in Georgia, but I wanted to start gearing up for next year if possible. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

Chris

I dont think you will be doign any big game hunting with a 22..do you mean a .22 centerfire? You can get a .223 / .22-250 , etc and kill deer size game with proper shot placement.
