RE: winchester super x sabot slugs
The Winchester Super X sabot round, 3" 1 oz slug is 1400 fps at the muzzle. Other than that I'm not sure. It seems to me that 1400 fps is a little slow. Remington Ultra core lokt's that are 2 3/4" have a muzle velocity of 1900 fps. And the copper solid's 2 3/4" have a muzzle velocity of 1550 fps. If you want a good flat shooting slug, check out the Federal Premium with the Barnes expander. With a 3/4 oz slug, 1900 fps, zeroed at 100 yards, ok out to 125 yards. And that 3/4 oz barnes slugs do a number on the deer. Lighter slug, higher velocity, you get more ft-lbs of energy. Hope this helps.
