Anybody ever used these on your pistol? Pros, Cons?

Yes I have a set for my 1911 , I have used others on j frames .
Neat toy , I can hit a target at night but you can see a red line going right back to the gun from the other end so they know where to shoot

I'm a deputy sheriff in Florida and we use the laser grips on our primary sidearms the Sig 229. They are accurate. We qualify with ours at night from 25yds in to 3yds. As mentioned above for tactical purposes be careful not to leave the laser on in a constant beam or the bad guys will see you. Also another concern is if you use them on a semiauto pistol is the activation button is located on the grip just above the magazine release on our pistols. We have had officers depressing the laser button thinking it was their magazine release. Not a good thing in the heat of battle. I'm not sure if it is like that on all semiauto pistols. I recommend that you practice magazine changes if this is the case. Also there is a primary power switch on the grips located next to the magazine well where you insert the magazine. This allows you to turn the laser off by disabling the activation button on the grips. If you leave the main switch on and store your gun with the activation button in a position that it might become depressed your laser will turn on and drain your batteries. We have had many officers unknowingly carrying guns whose lasers wouldn't work due to dead batteries. You must also check the calibration of the lasers on a semi regular basis to make sure that they are still accurate to the point of aim. We check ours everytime we go to the range. They are like the regular sights on a gun and the accuracy can be affected by bumping and jarring of the gun. I know this sounds like alot of cons but they are a good tool. They DO NOT!!!!!! replace the primary sights on the gun. Become proficient with shooting your gun without a laser. If your laser fails your sights on the gun is all that you will have. I hope that my experiences with the laser grips helps you out. Good luck

Thanks for the info guys. I have been thinking of getting a set for my Sig P220ST. They are a little more pricey than I thought, so they will probably have to wait till after Christmas. Thanks again.

The cheapest that I have seen them is $250. I called my dealer and he doesn't carry them, so I guess I will search the net untill I find the best deal.
