RE: Bill Ruger sold out?
asfar as I know Ruger uses this method of manufacture, they have someone turning barrels another machining recievers and somone making stocks and someone making triggers and bolts and then someone putting it all together and working out the kinks. I could be wrong but when I visited there plant here in Prescott, Az thats how it looked from what they were doing.

RE: Bill Ruger sold out?
I really dont think rugers way of manufacturing affects quality I am a ruger finatic and feel they are the best of quality compared to many others. And Accuracy is awesome heres a picture of how my ruger 10-22 shoots at 50 yards.

RE: Bill Ruger sold out?
also you cant really call Bill Ruger a selll out since he passed away a few years ago, I also resent that too because he was a friend of my brothers, You may blame his kids who now run the business.

HighDesertWolf, I used to live in Prescott Valley, Arizona. I lived there from 1990 to 1993. I loved living there. I almost went to work for Ruger in 1993. They just did not pay enough money to hold my interest. I think Ruger makes a good rifle & revolver. I never did care for there over & under shotguns or semi auto pistols.
The only thing Bill Ruger sold out was gun owners. His quote and philosophy was "no honest mans needs more than a 10 rd magazine."
Ruger makes good stuff, they have taken advantage of investment casting to make high quality at affordable prices, but you will probably never see Ruger make a hi-cap magazine for any of their autoloading rifles and pistols.

Just watched a factory tour of the facilities on either the Travel channel or Discovery channel..and they went thru the whole manufacturing process. The rifles are entirely made in house.

"Made" or "assembled"???? To me there's a difference. Are you saying all of the components are "made on site", and then the gun is assembled out of these components??????
I'm not for or against either way, i'm just wondering which it is???
