What make of 7mm08 rifle?
Looking into adding a new rifle to the gun safe, want a 7mm08 for deer hunting, not so young and macho that I have to use my 7mm mag or 300 weatherby any more.the remington mountain rifle in stainless with laminated stock is a pretty gun but how does it rate, also winchester model 70 is nice, any feed back or suggestions are welcome

I looked all around and shouldered a lot of rifles. Also talked to a bunch of folks.
For me the TIKKA T3 light stainless fit the bill perfectly. In the same caliber. I put a ZIESS Conquest on it and am getting ready to sight it in this week or next.
For the money I think it is a great values JMHO

The Win mod 70 is certainly a great selection as would be the Tikka previously mentioned. Another option (more pricey tho) is a Kimber. They are very nice too.

Check out the Kimber 84M, for the money it is the way to go. Accuracy is excellent, the trigger is unmatched, the fit and finish are outstanding, and the price is about what the Rem. Moutain rifle sells for. The Kimber is basically a custom shop rifle at a production price. You will not find a match grade barrel on a factory Remington Moutain rifle. I still think you can not go wrong if Made in the USA is stamped on the rifle (Kimber is all USA made) like Remington and Winchester, I am not a big fan of Tikka or their Sweed rifles.

All the made in the USA rifles are good. My next will be a mod. 70 featherweight. I also am not a Tikka fan, but sure do like the Sako's and have a model 75 in 7mm-08. Very nice rifles. Very smooth, fit and finish is excellent, and my trigger came from factory at crisp 4lbs with no creep (also adjustable).
