I have a Marlin 17vs very good accurate reliable gun shoots very good have shot about 2500 rd thru it with (400) 5 shot groups avg of 1.050 " at 100 yds.
I was thinking of maybe getting an automatic 17hmr and Ruger sounds like the best bet.
How accurate are they whats the best 100 yd group any of you have gotten. I know by comments on this forum I won't buy a Rem 597 I am sorry to hear that they are not reliable. I would appreciate any comments on the ruger. I just love the 17 hmr and if theres an auto loader that good I would like to know about it.

I pick up one used last week with a Leupold scope. It has had the trigger worked, very light. I have not gotten to shoot from a good rest. Only over the back of a 4wheeler. At 50 yds you could cover 10 shoots with a quarter, but I was shaking. When I touched the trigger I could see the hole where the crosshair were. This is with Federal Premium ammo. I tried some CCI ammo and was not impressed.
