Default Looking for feedback on Schmidt-Rubin K-31 7.5 Swiss

I recently acquired a Swiss K-31 Schmidt-Rubin in 7.5 Swiss and unfortunately have had no time to try it out at the range. I am very impressed with the unique action and would love to hear from anyone who has fired one. The ballistics I've seen look excellent, especially for a military cartridge designed that long ago.

Any experience or feedback out there?

The K-31 rifles are a great buy. Very accurate, slick handling litle carbines. The only slight downside is if you are a cast bulet shooter and want to shoot cast thru them. the throat is pretty shallow. Works fine for jacketed bullets, though.
I've been shooting 7.5 Swiss since Norma was the only game in town. I formed brass from .284 Winchester (just a pass thru a sizing die, no trimming needed in my rifles). Fair amount of Swiss surplus, Swiss match, and sporting ammo available now. Ammunition availablity is much better than it used to be.
Scope mounts are availble now as well, if you want to go that way.

Perfect rifles, probably best straight pull ever designed, great caliber, great workmanship, best possible materials and absolutely the best aperature sights on any military rifle ever. I've competed against Swiss with these rifles in a number of matches, and they are hard to beat!
They don't just built great rifles, them Swiss can use them too!

I'm rather sure you are realy going to enjoy that rifle!

Kind regards,

Aperature sights are not issue on this rifle. theyare available aftermarket, but can be pricey.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Everytime I break down that rifle I am so impressed with the workmanship. It's so different from any other firearm that I have ever had. The action system alone just amazes me. I am sure, based on your reviews, that I will be as impressed at the range as I am at the work bench. Those Swiss sure know how to build quality machinery!

Thanks again!

You are correct Sir, I made a mistake there. They don't have them as standard.

And they are indeed pricey..as anything Swiss usually is[:-]
