Default 204 ruger

Well I gave up waiting on the local shop to get a ruger target grey in 204 and bought a savage model 12 with the heavy barrel synthetic stock and acu trigger and all I can say is WOW. It took three shots to get it sighted in and here is a pic of the first five shot group at 100 yards with a leopuld VX III set on 10X using factory 32 grn. bullets. I am very satisfied so far.

Every Savage I have shot has shot very well. From old, old 99's to 110's, never more than 2" group at 100, usually closer to 1" -1.5". I'm not surprised by your shooting there. It sure is nice to get more than you pay for now and then.

T-roy I picked up my Youth model 10 (.308) for just over $300. I haven't bought other savages new, but I have shot a bunch of 99s (mostly 300s, one 358 and one 250-3000) and a couple 110s ('06s) that friends have. They are all shooters.

t-roy the 204 was 449.00 setting on the shelf. I also bought a stainless fluted heavy barrel with synthetic stock 223 but it was 529.00. For me the savage line is the one to beat right now.

Hard to argue. Savage accuracy is superb!

Yeah, the .204 is awesome, I just got my thompson encore barrel in the .204. It shoots great too, and it only a 15" pistol barrel. I was told that the short barrel is actually stiffer than a normal 24 inch rifle barrel, but I lose a little velocity. But it shoots well under an inch at 100 yds, pretty good for a pistol.

a local gunshop here had a savage .204 accutrigger (not sure of model, but it was pretty plian) with scope, for $525. this is a shop known for its higher prices. that accutrigger is SWEEEET. if they had one with a detatchable mag, i'd own one. i'd rather have a single shot, than that stupid blind mag. i wish you could get a handi rifle with the accutrigger
