Anybody know anything about Gibbs rifles? I think they're military surplus refinished into sporters. I was particularly interested in the 45-70. Do they make those in any other calibers.
Thanks

I've heard of them too. I think they are based on surplus Enfileds. They are available in 45/70. I bet they offer others, but don't know for sure. I've heard they are ok as far as quality goes, not great.
FOr the cost they are fine rifles.... They are made in .45-70 , .303 British, and once in a while they do a run in .308. I live about 20 miles from thier plant and visit it on a regular basis as one of thier production managers is a good friend of mine. I have one of the .45-70 "Summit" rifles and I love it. Function is flawless and overall quality is very good. They are made from old enfiled actions rebarreled and restocked. Accuracy is decent from mine as I adverage 2.5 inch groups (5 shot) @ 100 yda..not bad from a .45-70.
Thier plant is located just north of Martinsburg WV... I am going there next week so if you have any specific questions you want answered post them and I will get the answers for you.

I paid 375 for mine but I also get a discount form my dealer cause I think I put his kids through college...lol. You should be able to get one in the neighborhood of 400.00 OTD.
