Default Beretta 3032 Tomcat??

I am thinking about buying a Tomcat and I was wondering what people thought of them. Are they reliable and good quality? Any problems or dislikes?

Beretta pretty much screwed the pooch with the Tomcat. Advertising started way before they were available, and seems everybody wanted one. Release date kept getting pushed back, a classic case of sales and marketing dept. overriding the engineering dept. Whe they finally hit the market, lots of people found they didn't work very well. QC was spotty, with some folks finding they worked well, and some getting less than one magazine thru the gun before it quit working. I don't know if the problems have been sorted out, but I do know that there isn't much demand for Tomcats around my town. Haven't seen one in a gunshop here for about two years, and I don't see them at any ranges I frequent either.

I agree with Charley. When the Tomcat finally hit the shelves around here, they didn't last long. But, it wasn't long at all when they starting hitting the used market because they were junk!! If you're set on a 32, take a look at the Kel-Tec. Its cheaper, lighter and a much better auto.

I am also considering purchasing one, I've been doing a lot of research, and I'm not sure, but I think many of the problems might have been resolved---

(There's also a Titanium version that insures the slide problem won't happen, but I think I'm going to get an Inox)

Here they have some reviews of the 3032 Tomcat from people, a few people gave it low ratings, but none of them really mentioned most of the flaws that a lot of early examples had.... Most of the 3032 Tomcat reviews seem to be quite high. If you do searches on the internet for .32 loads, a lot of sites use the Tomcat as a test gun, so I'm not sure if that implies quality.

If I get one any time soon I'll tell you how it is, but I'll probably hold off for a month or so doing more research.

I talked to a buddy who has worked in a gunshop for the last several years.I had mentioned the Beretta 32 TC remembering seeing a topic on it. His exact words were They are a piece of garbage. He told me they sold some of them and there was nothing but problems with them.I didn't ask details since I have no interest in a 32 to begin with.He did mention frame problems but didn't elaborate. He's very knowledgeable with all different guns. His word is good enough for me.

I have heard a lot of good and bad things about the Tomcat, but most of it is on the bad side.

I own a 3032 Tomcat-32 Auto in a stainless version. I have absolutly no complaints about this piece. I have fired about 500 rds thru it with no problems. To my notion it's a great little back up gun. I have never regretted one thing about it. These comments surprise me and will probably cause me to run another 500 rds thru it just to assure myself that I won't have to find another pistol, . .lol.
