Default Savage 93GL (left hand) .22 Mag

Hello,
I'm interested in a .22 Mag and was looking at the Savage 93GL.
I'm left handed and want a left handed bolt action 22 mag.
Not to many companies make then, so my option are limited and so is my budget.

Do any of you own and use this gun?
How do you like it?

- Thanks,
- Brad

jjt,
Yep, I've read your posts and thanks for the info.
I haven't heard any bad reports about them, so I'm going to add it to my wish list.

I was just hoping someone had actual experience with this type of rifle.
I'll be only plinking with it and maybe in the future I'll use it to hunt.

i have used rifles calibered in .22 mag and .17 hmr

after careful consideration (bullet speed, killing power, accuracy, cartridge availability/ cost, yada yada yada)

i chose to buy the .17 hmr

these little varmint express bullets cruise at 2550 fps and i can tell you they are devestating on crows, rabbits, praire dogs, squirels, and a one shot kill on 3 coyotes. i have yet to test it over 100 yards but up to 100 i would take it over the .22 mag

just my 2 cents

I have one in .22 Mag. but with the heavy stainless steel barrel. I wouldn't trade mine for anything...for the price, it has been wonderful. My longest recorded shot on a gopher has been 246 yds. so far. I have a simmons 3-9 .22 Mag scope mounted on it. I use CCI "TNT" shells and it does a job on critters. My opinion is buy it, you won't be disappointed.JDinAB
