Sako Forester .308

Located an 80's Sako Forester .308, great condition, so-so optics.

Great looking stock, smooth action, with light feel. Any feedback on a Sako Forester in .308? All the research tells me these are very accurate, light and a nice to have rifle.

Asking price is $900, that seems a bit high with the so-so optics.

Thanks

RE: Sako Forester .308

I am operating only on here say. I have heard by two different people that these are excellent rifles. One has a Forrester in 243 and the other in 308. I have seen the 308 in action at the local rifle range. 100 yard 3 shot groups with all three bullets touching was the case. However, the price seems a little high. Try looking on www.gunsamerica.com and I think you can beat the price. If you can afford that price and are satisfied it doesn't really matter.

The price is high. Trying to work the seller to lower the price, the shop that has it on consignment adds % also. The scope is not worth the mounts. $600 is a good number for the Sako based on what I have seen on www.gunsamerica.com

thanks for the input

Sako is an excellent firearm, and new retails for well over 1,000.00. If it's in as good a shape as you say, you may not be able to talk them down. Guns America has a Forrester in .243 that they want 1800.00 for. Good luck and hope you get it, I don't think you'll be sorry.
