Default ? about browning bps

I am getting the opportunity to get a Browing BPS Stalker 3" or Hunter 3" through a rewards program at my wifes work she is sharing, what a great wife. From doing some searching on the site it looks like they are highly regarded guns. I just want to make sure it will take care of me for the hunting that I will be doing: dove, turkey, waterfowl, deer, pig. I should not have a problem putting slugs through it right?

I can get the Stalker in 26" or Hunter in 26" and 28". Why the difference in barrel lengh and what benefits does it offer.

It comes with the Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder chokes, are there more availble? i.e. turkey choke

I am leaning towards the Hunter, that walnut looks really nice.

I know it is a lot of questions, but thanks for taking the time to read and respond.

Generally speaking if the gun is going to be used strictly for hunting the 26 inch barrel would serve you better. It will be somewhat easier to maneuver in various hunting situations. One of my shotguns has a 22 inch barrel which I love for turkey and deer. I doubt whether the extra two inches of sighting plane with effect your pass shooting of waterfowl or doves. Target shooters and some waterfowlers usually prefer longer barrels due to the added sighting plane and follow through advantages they offer an experienced shooter.

You will be able to get a good after market Turkey Choke and also a rifled choke tube for shooting sabots through your barrel should you choose to do so.

Synthetic or wood is a personal choice. If you are going to use the gun a lot in hunting situations some of that pretty wood is going to get scratched. There are those however that feel like those scratches add character to the gun. The bottom line is, whatever floats your boat.
