Default Sims Limbsaver

I'm thinking about getting one of these for my slug gun. Is it hard to put on? What do i have to do? Can this fit on an 870 shotgun stock?

If you check the bowhunting forum, I'm sure you'll find a link to Sims Labs site and it will give you all the info you want. I believe they make prefit, grind to fit, and slip-on recoil pads for most gun makers. I can't imagine the 870 being left out.

Mossyoak02, I installed the sims pad on my 870 this season, took less than 5 minutes, hardest problem is finding a big long screwdriver. You won't be dissapointed with the sims. I shoot 3" mags and it really tames the recoil. LOL, NBH

I may be wrong, but I'd say the the wood stock and the synthetic stock will have the same dimenions.

I put one on my H&R , pachmyr or something like that. The only thing I had to do was drill a hole in it for the swivel to my sling. Other than that works great for recoil , but my main objective was to increase the pull length.

i would call sims labs to find out for sure. i recently sent back 2 sims pads because they were the synthetic models and i needed wood . one was for a wood mossberg 500. they dont make one for that model which i cant understand being thousands of them out there. the other recoil pad was for a model 70 that was advrertised as fitting a synthetic but it only fit the wood model. i put a slide on model over my model 7600 pump rifle and it works great.

I would highly recomend these. I put on on my .338 this past fall and what a difference. I have a Tikka and none were listed to fit. I ordered the large grind to fit and put it on. I simply put duct tape on the wood and used a 4.5" grinder to take it down. I used an old belt and disc sander combo when at my folks b/4 the hunt to finish it. Not as smooth as the prefit ones, but this gun is a worker, not a looker. Easily took better than 50% of the recoil out of the big gun.

I am hoping that they make models for more rifles soon,They make the slip-on and grind to fit models but I am not wanting one of these.Seems like the ones I need they don't make though.I need one for a savage with syntic stock, they have one for wood stock but not the syn. Need one for a wood stock encore, they don't have one for wood but do have one for syn.or didn't the last time I checked their site.
I have one on a browning 270 wsm in syn. and it really does it good.
