357 maximun, the results are IN !!!

A few days back I asked concerning the effectivness and range for this load, (170gr semi-jacketed hollow pt. with 20.5grns of h111). Well, this morning I had a buck come in at thirty yards, my heart was pounding and I was shaking so bad, you' d have thought it was my first deer, waited till he was almost broadside, made a very good shot, might have got some of the lungs, hard to say, they were kinda mushed, got the heart about 2/3' s of the way up. would have liked to recovered the bullet, but it passed through opposite side. deer went maybe 30 yards. I am definetly hooked on handgun hunting!!!

i use the 180gr XTP HP from hornady and i get about a .5" exit wound, do you know what you got with the 170? this is purely curiostiy here

yep, I could stick my finger in the exit hole, didn' t measure it ,but I' d say about the same as you stated
