I shoot a Encore with the 12ga "turkey barrel" for the birds. I bought that barrel as soon as I could get one and have not been disappointed at all. The factory choke it comes with is all you'll need to take a bird at longer ranges. As with any gun, you'll need to find which round patterns best outta a particular gun/barrel.
