Marlin XL7C vs. Mossberg 100ATR

I'm in the market for a .308 Win bolt action in the $400 price range. Can I get some opinions of these 2 rifles, pros and cons?

If you have any other suggestions in this price range I'd also be interested. Maybe I could go up to $500 if it is truly waranted, but it would have to be justified (and I'll need to move some of the items I have listed for sale... LOL).

Of the two listed, I'd take the Marlin.

Just picked up a Marlin XS7 in .308 this week actually. Going to range today or tomor will let you know. Put a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 on mine. Paid $330 for mine at local shop. Marlin comes with a scope base so saves you a few bucks there. Can't comment on the Mossberg but will let you know after range day how mine does.
