Default Marlin xs7c

Well I picked up my new Marlin XS7C last week & I mounted a Bushnell Elite 3-9x50 on it,took it to the range. At 100yrds with a little tunning my 4th & 5th shot were dead center bullseye.I couldn't be more happy with this rifle.I ended up getting the 7mm-08 so my daughter could shoot it also. After reading all the reviews,I can honestly say you wont go wrong with this baby.

Congrats on the new toy! You may wish to consider sighting in about 2" high @ 100 yards. This effectively increases your MPBR or "dead hold" out to about 285 yards. Good luck.

Just picked one up in Short action today XS7 in 308 Win. Haven't been to the range yet, but will this week. Bought a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 to top mine with.

Obviously you guys have a Marlin bend (and frankly so do I), but I'd like your opinions of the Marlin vs the Mossberg ATR. They are both similarly priced. I am in the market for a .308 Win. and could use some help in deciding. Did any of you compare the two before buying the Marlin? Pros and Cons to both if you can - Thanks!

I love our XL7 in wood. Wife growls at me if I pick it up now, lol. Cant comment on the mossy guns, havent handled them yet. I wouldnt hesitate on fetching another XL7/XS7 if the deal and caliber were right. Real good weight to them.

I didn't compare look at the mossberg's. None of them local where I was looking. I did look at the new entry level savages. The Edge. Didn't feel right to me. Looked at the Tika's and the Remington's. The Remington 770 just felt bad. The Tika was a close second, but for this gun it was about price vs performance. I had a budget of $800 or so total for scope and gun.
