Just purchased a Savage 220F slug gun, what's the word on it?
Has anyone been able to shoot a 220F yet, whats the word? Good, Bad or Indifferent, I want to hear it all! I currently hunt with a 20ga & 12ga. H&R Ultra Slug Hunters, I love them both! There are a couple wooded spots which i deer hunt and have had multiple coyotes come in (as long as it's not opening morning, game on!) and have only been able to take 1 each time. I would like to get an extra shot, this gun will never be able to re-place my H&R's on my field stands, because they have more than proved themselves to be tack drivers!
Good luck to all in the up-coming season! Thanks for reading and responding ahead of time!

I'm also will be purchasing the 220F, placing a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 on it. I hear that they have problems ejecting the shells, Savage says not to baby the bolt, also I hear the Remington Accu-Tip slugs seems to work best
Best of luck, and keep us all informed

Bought mine in July put a Nikon 6-18-40 on it. I put 15 rounds through it last weekend. It is an inch high at 150 yards. Going to shoot it at 200 when the hay gets cut. I cut Accu-tip 3 inch slugs. If you baby the bolt the shells will hang up. YOu have to pull it back like you mean it. It has very little recoil and is light weight.

I payed 425 for mine and it's a black/ blued barrel. If you got the camo 1 for 429 you got a deal..! I will be mounting a 3x9x40 Burris Fullfield II on top of mine... can't wait.

I bought the gun to be able to hunt and shoot the length of two fields I hunt over. It is 201 yards to the end. Most shots are right at dark I wanted some power. I have a 3x9x40 on my ML and they look like ants when they come out that far away.

They have a good write up on it in last or this months "American Hunter" issue. Ejection problems no longer an issue with this new model. The older 210F in 12 gauge had issues. I bought one brand new in the box and it wouldn't allow the bolt to work the action. Took it right back. Maybe this new 20 gauge just might be the Cat's PJ's!!
