Default Anyone put True Glo fiber optic sites on any guns?

So I have a set of fiber optic sites that came on a muzzle loader. I absolutely love them. I normally do not really like open sights and can hits stuff great at 25 yards and ok at 50 yards. However, past that I have trouble with them. With the fiber optic ones I feel fairly comfortable up to 100 yards or so. Still not as good as a scope to me but for open sights I really love them. I'm wondering if I shouldn't get a set for my rifle. Any downsides? What do you guys think of them?

i dont know if theve changed much but in low light the fiber tends to shut off like a switch. the fiber isint long and doenst gather light like on a bow sight. i have actually painted white dots over my front sight.

Additionally, they may not be very durable and / or break at the most inopportune time. Just food for thought.

i put set on my 870 slug gun and really like them.i wanted to keep my setup as simple as possible.the less connections and parts to rely on the better.i hunt fairly thick woods and 80-100 yards would be max distance.i can keep my groups inside a 5 inch circle with a rest.mine are steel and i can can see mine till legal shooting time is over.i keep a compact set of binoculars with me to glass any deer i see.

I much prefer scopes but if limited for whatever reason to open sights FO's are the way to go.Not as durable as steel but I can see them much better in low light and just seem to shoot better with them vs steel. They came std on my Omega ML and the turkey barrel of my 835 12g.They both work great but I did put a scope with QR rings/base on the ML

I put some on my old TC m/l and it made a nice improvement over the old iron sights. It made a huge difference in the last few moments of shooting light. I wasnt a big fan of the set screw deal when it come to locking the sights down after adjusting them, but with a bit of super glue helping to hold it I was more comfortable with it.

The truglo globe sight is very bright. It has wrapped fiberoptics and can be adjusted for brightness. Awesome in low light and the front bead is very small which is a help in aiming. I feel very comfortable out to 100 yards and even beyond with my muzzleloader.

However, I use a Williams peep rear sight to replace the ghost ring that comes with the set.
