I like mine.. It is probably not the most accurate one I have in the safe, but I like the ability to change and try new calibers easily..

Default Encore

I like it a lot. It is a good hunting gun. Certainly more than accurate enough for about any situation. The 30-06 barrel that I use most frequently will shoot MOA with my handloads. I have barrels in .308/.30-06/.300 Win Mag/.50-70/.223.
The ability to switch barrels is a great aspect. Lots of choices from .22 to .416. Want to make it a shotgun? Go ahead. Need a muzzleloader? Got you covered. Pistol - make sure that it's registered as a pistol frame when you buy it and there's a whole 'nother set of barrels to spend money on.
Barrels can be addictive.

Thumbs up

I like mine alot. I have 1 barrel in 270 w/3-9 40mm scope on it grouping 1/2 or less @100 yrds sighted 2in.high.
I have a 50cal. muzzleloader barrel also topped w/3-9 40mm scope grouping 1in@ 100yrds.
I would recommend anyone looking for a good rifle to by one. Also customer service at T/C is great. I lost screws to the forend once called them & in less than a week had new ones.

love mine, biggest gripe, triggers are heavy, sent mine to mike bellms and the are good shooters, changing barrels my POI always seems like it moves (still shoots decent groups though), even though i have ensured indexing my hinge pin so it is always in the same position...

if something happened to mine i could see buying another

I really like mine. I have 3 actions and several barrels. Mine will shoot MOA or slightly under with good hand loads. But what I like the best is the way the rifle handles. I shoot my Encores off handed better than any other rifles I have. I prefer a rifle to shoot better off handed or in hunting conditions. Bench shooting is OK. But I shoot to hunt. Tom.

Biggest gimmick ever to come out in rifles. I even fell for it. After about 300 dollars of modifications to a 204 ruger, it occured to me, "you just invested over 800 dollars in a poke stalker.

Like it but don't expect to much for accuracy. Factory setup shoots probably 2-2.5" with most factory ammo. Not much reason for the magnum barrels if you cant keep groups fatal beyond 250 yds.

If you float the forend with a couple of rubber/teflon washers or o-rings the groups will tend to get a lot better, POI shift will also lessen. I have had a dozen or so encore barrels and three frams and havn't found any that wouldnt shoot decent with a little work. I had a 25-06 barrel that refused to shoot until the rubber washer trick.

Right now I have 22-250 barrel that will shoot 3/4" groups all day with white box winchester ammo, and a 30/06 barrel that consistantly shoots MOA with several factory loads, and a shorty 45/70 barrel that wears a set of peep sights.
