Default Remington's new 887????

Anyone buy or shoot this gun yet. I am looking for a inexpensive shotgun for the fall and seen this but I don't know alot about shotguns. The part I like is that is covered in armorlock for protection.

I'm sorry, but I just wouldn't buy a shotgun that is completely covered with a plastic shell, including the barrel. That tells me that they've probably reduced the metal used to the bare minimum. And it's ugly. No thanks.

Though I'm not familiar with the 887 other than the e-mails I get from Remington, I was a reluctant buyer of the Benelli Nova for essentially the same concerns (although its barrel isn't plastic encapsulated).

Rather than selling it after a few trips to the field, it's a pretty solid member now of the "keepers". Stone reliable, easy to maintain, and I'm not so worried about it banging around in the brush as I might be with my trusty old Wingmaster or Beretta O/U. Yup, "ugly" fits it very well.

I'd keep an open mind, wait 'til some of the reviews start coming out, and then make your decision when the 887's a bit more "known". If the Nova's been any indication though, the 887 may very well prove to be just as reliable, and certainly as "ugly".

I have fired the 887 and it is not all that bad, it looks a little clunky but it points and holds very well after numerous shoots it still feed, fired, and ejected without flaw. I would say it is as reliable the 870. as for the metal I can tell you it was not reduced to a minimum it has a solid receiver and barrel covered in the Armorlock. I hope this helps.

I dont know why they didnt just introduce a teflon coated 870???

Remington should really stick to producing different variants of the 870,1100,700 and 7600 instead of coming out w/ this new crap, no one wants every year.

We have had on in the store and it sold the very next day. If one were given to me I would immediately put it up for sale. That is the most God awful ugly gun I have every laid my eyes on. The barrel is larger in diameter than a 10 gauge but still the same internal diameter as a standard 12 gauge, has those dang clunky speed bumps all over it. UGLY UGLY UGLY!

Now, it does have a great trigger for a pump shotgun and I like where they have moved the manual slide release button in front of the trigger guard.

Did I mention that it is FUGLY?
