The one that handles good in your shoulder. Best to go to a local gun range and see if you can shoot all of them and then make a choice. It is personal preference on make and model. The one that fits you will be the best one. Get proffient with it like a tool and will last you for years if you take care of it. Then get a good scope, bases and rings. Then go out and get proffient with you new tool and it will all comes together.

Like 700 XCR says, the one that fits you and feels best. I recently picked up a Vanguard SS in .270 Win. I like the way the stock fits me and the extra front-end balance of a 24" barrel. However, YMMV.

Are you looking at bolt actions? If so the new 2009 savages with the accustock, accutrigger and improved magazine feeding system would be my choice. They also have added a stronger smooth barrel nut.

I absolutely HATE the matte finishes Ruger is now putting on their matte stainless and matte blued rifles!!!!!!!!

Subsequently, I would get one of these rifles instead:

1. Savage Weather Warrior with the Accustock and Accutrigger
2. Remington 700 SPS stainless
3. Tikka T3 stainless

For the record, I love the original Ruger MK/IIs with theirstain stainless and beautiful deep gloss bluing.
