This is an update on my previous post on the S&W 22A 7" barreled 22 pistol I got last week. Those of you that read it know that I used some old Remington High Velocity ammo I had on hand and the results were less than spectacular. I had 3-4" - 10 shot groups at 25 yds, several misfires and a few 'failed to cycle' jams.
Today I took it out again with some old Winchester ammo, some fresh Remington Cyclone ammo and some Eley Standard ammo.
All shots were at 25 yds off sand bags. The Win ammo produced a 2.3", 10 shot group.
The Rem ammo shot a 2.1", 10 shot group.
Ok, I thought, new gun, not too bad. But then I loaded up the Eley ammo.
Much to my surprise, and not counting a flyer that was a bit off, it put the other 9 shots into a 0.6" cluster.
It looks as though this pistol may prefer the slower (std. velocity) ammo. Now I have to see if I can order some.
After the test grouping I just played with it and finished off all the old ammo just shooting at fun targets like pieces of clay targets, shot shell cases etc. I like the trigger. It is a tad heavy for precision shooting but not too bad. And there is zero creep.

I'm not as good as I'm gonna get - but I'm better than I used to be. "Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - it has no point."
In mine, accuracy has been very good. However I am having feed issues and jam issues with all of the cheaper "brick" brands. I have not tried any of the more expensive rounds but i bought it for plinking.
