Default .17hmr pistols??

has anybody had the chance to shoot one of these? a quality gun, not one of the cheapies. tarus makes one in a tracker, with a 6 inch barrel (i think), and a silouette, with a real long barrel. those are the only 2 good one i have seen. what kind of range do they have? an auto would be cool

I wonder what the velocities would be out of the short pistol barrels, any idea?

I haven' t shot any 17 HMR rifle or handgun yet.It didn' t take Ruger long to get on the band wagon. They have introduced a Single Six model NR617. It has a 6 1/2" bbl. Blued w/ Rosewood grips. MSRP is 389.00.I' m sure one can be picked up for much less doing a little research.

under $200, it will not be the ruger. most likely the heritage. kind of a single six copy

I' ve got a couple buddies out west KS that I run around with from time to time. They' ve all picked up .17HMR pistols for coyote hunting, they claim they get great results out to 100yrds as long as they do their part they say. I watched them take a couple at about 65yrds, it worked very well, surprisingly. Theirs are all these little pocket pistols, 6" bbls with 5rnd cylinders, spur triggers, satin stainless finish, I don' t know who makes them, there' s at least one of them in every pawn shop I go to though. They sure were hot little devils though, and REALLY GREAT SHOOTERS!! On my first shot with one I hit the bottom of a beer can at 50paces~50yrds (mine are close, but not quite perfect yet). If I' d ever get one, that' d be it for sure, don' t feel any need to get a regular varminting pistol with as good as those shoot, they' re cheap too.

Think they could be NAA??? They make some sort of longer barreled " trail gun" based on their mini revolvers; and those are available as .22 mags. I gotta check their website and see.[&:]

Yep, they make a .17HMR " Mini-Master" . Though listed as a 4" barrel. Good gosh that would be a handy little varmint rig. I got to buy one myself.
