Default sako 85

I recently handled a sako 85,and am now thinking of buying a stainless laminate sako 85.I am interested in hearing the opinions of sako 85 owners as to what they like and don't like about their rifles.

I own a 75 and have handled and shot an 85. I liked it fine, but I still prefer my 75. I guess I'm just used to the 75 as I've had it a few years. Love the Sako triggers!

I've owned a 2 Sako 75's and an 85. The 75's were a Greywolf (laminated/stainless) and a wood/blued, both in 7mm08. The 85 was wood/blued in .270.

The 75 stock fit me better.. but I could never get the 7-08 to shoot to my liking (factory ammo only). The .270 85 was lighter and shot 3/4" groups with 3 types of factory ammo out of the box.IMO the85 stock handled recoil better than the 75. Both triggers wereeasy to adjust.

I'm down to 1 Sako now... Can't go wrong with a Sako.

Here's my Sako 85:

Good Luck !

I recently (last Fri) received a 85 in 338 federal that I I bought from a guy on line. 2 trips to the range and 40 rounds later. I prefer the 75 stock it has a palm swell. Gun is smooth, it's going to shoot and the one group I shot @ 100 was 1 1/8 MOL. Wind was gusting probably at 15-20 Trigger is great, don't know if I'm in love with the push to release feature on the clip but at the most it's a pain. stock is designed to push back with very little muzzle jump when fired. It has a VERY small recoil lug, but it does have one and the recoil pad is effective, I will probably end up in a mcmillian stock but not for a while. Oh cost was a whooping 785 in my hand I couldn't pass it up.
