Default Model 7 Remington

Does anyone know why Remington has stopped making the Model 7?

The prices are very reasonable and I am thinking about buying one, but I want to know if there were any safety/accuracy issues?

None that I am aware of. I guess they just decided on making the 'classier' 770.. [][:@]

I wasn't aware Remington discontinued the Model 7. I've been shooting one for close to eleven years and love it, its one of the most accurate guns I've ever owned. Why would they do that?

I don't know why. You can buy them new for less than $500 on sites like gunbroker.com. Several of the listings mentioned the guns discontinuance.

I am considering the 7mm SAUM. Looks like it would be compact, sweet rig.

Just curious if anyone know of any shortcomings.

The model 7 is still listed on their website.

So is the 11-87 SPS but they're not making it anymore. Their website is outdated terribly.

I guess I'm WAY behind on things...
I always thought the Model 7 was 2nd in sales to the 700.
Remington management has been awful for years. To discontinue the Model 7 while keeping the 770 proves it.

I just did a quick search, I stress QUICK, and I can find nothing from Remington or anyone else that says that the Model 7 has been discontinued. The only thing that I could find was that some variations on the Model 7 have been discontinued, not the entire line.

I don't think it's dropped either. In fact I think there's an anniversary version available now with a longer barrel as well.Myself I liked the original model 7 better.
