RE: What manufacturers still make a 7mm-08 hunting pistol ?
Coyote is probably talking about the mag. research Lone Eagle. They run about 400$+
I'm not sure if Savage is still manufacturing the striker, but you can still find them new and used at most gun shops, they come in 7mm-08, 243, 308 and several other calibers.
you can usually find the remington xp100 pistol around too, probably used, and they are still running about 700$
I had a T/C encore with a 15''260rem barrel from bullberry, it shot very well. But, I have friends who have shot several different calibers in T/C pistols without custom barrels, and the only one I haven't liked the accuracy in is the 45LC/410. All of the rifle calibers shot great.
The 260 is a great pistol round, its got a little less energy and velocity (the ballistics are almost the same) and makes a great shooting pistol. For the money I don't think you can beat the Encore, especially if youfind a used frame at a goodprice then figure out what barrel you like.
