Default Benelli Super Black Eagle problems

I have a friend who recently purchased the Super Black Eagle. He is having problems ejecting low brass shells from it. Some sources say that that is norml for that gun, and others claim they never have had problems. It doesn't seem right that a $1400 shotgun should not be capable of shooting light factory loads. Any thoughts from owners? Thanks

I believe it says right in the book that it won't reliably shoot any load under 1 1/8 ounce of shot. What shells is he shooting? What cleaning method does he use?

Some get away from it some don't. Its a hunting gun.I have a 3.5" gold too that will cycle anything down to low power cheap skeet loads. I am not supposed to be able to cycle these according to browning, but it does.

I went quail hunting last year and one of the guys had just bought one. He had the same problems. The next time we went he had his old beat up 870. . .

Well if it says that then the gun is within specs. My Extrema will cycle any shell it doesn't matter. I have shot all types of ammo thru that gun with no hiccups.

Yeah I can't recall for sure, but there is a disclaimer of some sort like that with Benelli's. I know my M1 Super 90 and my M2 will shot 7/8 ounce cheapo wal-mart shells no problem.

Is it new? The manual also says to break it in with higher powered loads. I did and it worked. I can cycle the cheap WalMart low-brass dove loads without a problem.

I havea SBE that will shoot anything I put in it. It is now set up for Turkey hunting only, put a steady grip stock on it and a red dot. So now it only gets a diet of 3 1/2 inchers. But before, never had a malfunction at all. But guns are machines and some of them will break or not work without a little tweaking. May just need "broke in" ora small adjust with extractor or ejector. If it doesn't work itself out I would take it to a gunsmith.

Mine cranks out anything I throw into the chamber. I make sure to break it all down, clean and lubricate it before putting it away after the season. Great shotgun.
