Default Biometric GunVault?

Anyone have one of these? Seems like a really good option to put by the bed to have my handgun accessible to me but not anyone else. They claim that they open fast, but how fast. And what is the false rejection rate?

I have read about them and looked, but i wanted the opinion of someone who has used one for a while.

Looks cool.
I have had at least oneGunvault in the house for 5 years, but not the biometric one. Even the one with the original pressure pads opens very quickly. I can get guns for myself and the wife in seconds without turning on a light or taking my eyes off a potential threat or doorway.
I highly recommend them for secure storage of a firearm loaded or not.

I like the fact that each time I access it, it will indicate if an incorrect code has been entered since the last time it was opened. They get checked everytime I come home, and right before bed.

GIVE INTRUDERS THE FINGER.
The GVB2000 Bio uses biometrics, specifically fingerprint recognition, to access the safe contents. A high-performance algorithm is used to acheive speedy identification of enrolled fingerprints; and at the same time has a very low False Reject Rate (FRR) for a given False Accept Rate (FAR). This self-learning algorithm of the GunVault Bio adds new minutiae to the fingerprint sensor, which decreases the likelihood of FRR, updates slight changes that might occur over time to an enrolled fingerprint, aswell as to help distinguish variations between the enrolled fingerprints. System can handle a maximum of thirty fingerprint templates.

I like the prices on the one that you have, i'm just not sure of my ability to remember a code in an instant if i wake up with a need to get a gun in the middle of the night. I thought if it worked well, the biometric version would be great because there is nothing to forget. I'm surprised no one on here has one.

...a good reason to use the code every day, to make it second nature.
Keep a bright lightand cell phone nearby too.

Yeah i know that part, but how well composed are you gonna be 1 second after waking up in a possible life and death situation. Either is a good choice, i'm just curious about the bio because i like that idea.

Default RE: Biometric GunVault?

Honestly, it would be easier to just open it with a fingerprint. Probably not much faster than I can get into mine with practice, but still easier, and there is no code for someone to hack or get ahold of. Your finger is it.

I like the idea fo the biometric onetoo. No way I would ever want that feature in a holster, but it's great for a safe. If a gun is on my person, it's my job to keep it secure. The safe is there to keep others from getting the gun when I'm not around.

I'm happy with thevaults I have, but the trick really is repetition.
Pick one code for all your vaults, and use it often.

If you care to keep a long gun for defense, this is a great way to go.
It mounts between studs in any wall, and installs in about 20 minutes.
