Default Smith and Wesson Sigma Series

I'm looking to buy a pistol for the first time and came across a slightly used sigma series pistol in .40 S&W for around $260. I didn't take the time to really inspect it but from what I could tell it looked like it had been well maintained and fired very little. If that's the case, do you think this is a reasonable price?

Got one of the first batch made. Had to have it serviced by the factory to bring it up to acceptable reliability. Still have it, still works, but definitely not a first choice weapon. I would look a little moreif I was you. Take care.

Ditto above. They were an ill attempt at a Glock rip off. I wouldn't take one for free. Save another $100.00 and buy a used Glock. JMHO.

I agree with the last two posters. Don't waste your money. Glock would be my choice too.

I'd have to disagree, but with limitions..

The 1st ones out plain sucked, LOTS of quality issues. The later ones all functioned fine, I even owned one for about 2 yrs and never had any issues.
Based on your price though, I'd guess its an earlier model and would definately look at the exact model number to verify before getting off any cash. To be honest, there are lots of Ruger P94 and P95 model pistols out there at about the same price range (used)and they are built like tanks. Glock would be an excellent choice if it is within your means, got some myself in the safe.
