Default Rotary bolt on Rem semi auto's

I just bought a 750 WM 30.06... I'm planning on shooting 180-220gr SP...

I've read on other forums that some people seem to think that shooting a 06 with 220gr loads can damage the bolt system on these guns... Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this???

There is no way it will damage the bolt because of bullet weight alone.
In a gas operated system, pressure is the factor you need to pay attention to. All factory loads fall within acceptable pressures.
I have wonder what kind of critter you need those bullets for.

With a 30-06, or any other 30 caliber cartridge, you can do it with a 180 grain bullet of proper construction and get much better in flightballistics than those big220 grain bullets.

Such as a 180 Barnes TSX will penetrate as well or better than a 200 0r 220 grain lead, round nosebullet. Or a Swift a-frame, Or a Winchester XP3, etc... etc...

If I wanted to shoot those bullets I would just load them up and use my Rem XCR 300 Win Mag or my Browning A-Bolt 300WSM... So for now in my Rem 750 Woodsmaster I'll be shooting 220gr SP's or 180gr SP's
