Default American slug barrels, are they any good?

I have just ordered one through Cabelas for my fathers Remington 11-87. It has a fast rate of twist 1 in 26". I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about them? What should I expect?

If your Dad is going to use a scope i hope that you ordered the cantilevered scope barrel. i ordered the iron sight barrel for my Model 870 and then put a scope on a saddle mount. Wrong answer! The zero changes every time i remove and install the barrel.
