Default Mossburg Rifle

Is the Mossburg rifle line any good? Or are they sub par?Found the 101ATR for under $300 and was wondering.

I don't own 1.. but I worked in a gun shop for a while and there a very good gun for the money. People use to be scared to buy them and when they did.. they would come back and say.. that's a great gun for the price. Just my 2 cents.. hope you find what your looking for.

I hog hunt with a guy who is using that Mossberg rifle in a .223. He is very pleased with it. He won't shut up about how much he loves it. I saw one at Wal-Mart in synthetic stock in several different calibers. It was around $240. At that price, I thought about picking one up for fun!

I had one in .270, it shot very good, and was a good gun, but, I hate internal box magazines.[:@]

The sling studs, are actually not studs at all, they are holes cut into the stock, that a sling swivel fits through.

In all honesty, I wasn't too impressed with the Mossberg, sure, its a good gun for the budget minded hunter/shooter, but it wasn't that great of a gun, Id rather have a Savage or a HOWA.
