Default The new Marlin XLR Levergun

I am already a proud owner of a Marlin .30-.30, but really like the new XLR Marlins with the 24" barrels, stainless and black laminate. I am especially interested in the .444 caliber. Any one have an XLR in any of the five calibers offered? Are they worth the $750-800 for them? Thanks.

I wouldn't buy one, no need for all that recoil here.
When I go bison hunting, I would get one, but I probably will never go bison hunting, and don't plan to. One of those Marlins would make a great moose and elk gun.

My uncles best friend, who is gun crazy, has one, but I don't know which caliber.

The 45/70 is less than $600 at Walmart. Just go and ask for the special order book, they are in there. Heck you can get the 1895M for like $450 out of there. Go and ask, I am going to be ordering one very soon in the afor mentioned caliber and I've heard lots of praise on them.

I have the 336xlr, but it was less than $600 dollars. Great gun.

Unless they plan on offering LeverEvolution ammo for the .444 I wouldn't bother.

Be patient, I am pretty sure there is a .308 coming. Tom.

It's a great gun and knocks the snot out of piggys (that's all I've tried mine on). Mine is not the XLR, just the old wood, blue model 444. BTW, they do offer .444 in the new LeverEvolution ammo... had some now for several months. Good luck.
