How do you like CZ 452 Varmint 22

I just bought a new CZ 452 Varmint rifle in 22 LR. Has anyone had experience with them and if so how do they shoot and what ammo do they seem to like. I am usualy on the black powder forum but I just bought this gun for squirrel hunting.

i have one and absolutely love it. eats most any ammo. good luck with cci stingers. or if you want inexpensive.....federal lightning group great.

I have a 452 American. It shoots pretty much all of the solid points fine that I've tried out of it. Shoots the cheap bulk Winchester Dynapoints pretty well (available at walmart), so I use those for plinking most of the time. My hunting bullet is the CCI Mini-Mag, as it doesn't really care for the stingers at all.

Same here. I really like mine. It shoots Federal, Winchester, Hornady (M2)and Remington ammo great, but doesn't like CCI. My favorite squirrel rifles.

Thanks for the info. I shot mine yesterday and it doesn"t like Stingers either ( rats! I"ve got a whole brick of them). I tried the Federal Lightning and they shot very well. I just bought some Wolf match target ( got them at Midway for $27.99 a brick) and I have heard some very good reports on them. I plan on trying them out tomorrow.
Glad to hear that you guys like your CZs, I think I am going to like mine also.

Glad to hear it's working out. Find someone with a Ruger 10/22...chances are they'll buy those stingers off you as they work fairly well in them most of the time. Check out www.rimfirecentral.com as well. There are quite a few CZ fans over there.

I tried out the Wolf Match Target bullets today and they are everything I have heard about them. I fired six 5 shot groups at 50 yds. and all the groups could be covered with a nickle and a couple with a dime. The light wasn't good and I'm not used to the gun yet so I am very happy with both the gun and ammo.
Thanks for the link and I will look for a 10/22 shooter to sell the Stingers to.

My 452 Varmint shoots great. It doesn't have the trigger or smoothness of my Anschutz or some of my higher dollar rifles, but it will shoot right with them from the bench.

I just ordered a Erick Brooks trigger kit for mine. It is supposed to take out the huge amount of creep and has springs to make the trigger lighter. It looks like it won't be to hard to install.

My 452 lux is not a varmint but has a sporter barrel. It shoots most good 22 well. But strangley, shoot the remington subsonic best so far. Also shoot the federal gold medal match. But it shoots most hunting ammo fine and is a joy to take sqirrel hunting and it is the envy of my buddies.
Let us know what it shoots well.
What kind of scope will you put on it?
